After Chase and I had been dating a while, we decided to get married. We were in love. We decided to set the
date to February 23, 2003. About 3 months into the engagement we found out that i was about 2 months pregnant. We talked
about the wedding we had been planning and decided that neither of us really wanted a big wedding anyways. We would get married
sooner so that I wouldn't be HUGE on my wedding day.
After moving back to Jackson from Biloxi, I got in touch with my preacher from when I was a kid and asked him
to marry us, he said yes. So, on December 19, 2002 we were married in front of Brother Germany's Christmas tree. Sadly, we
don't have any pictures of that wonderful day, but we have the memory.
Honeymoon...sorta
A little unorthodox I admit...but we had fun anyways. After we pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Van Velkinburgh, we went
home to change into jeans. We went to Xan's Diner and mostly talked about the rest of our lives, the upcoming baby, how we
wanted to grow old together, just all the mushy stuff i love. Then we went to the movie theater and saw "The Hot Chick". Great
movie. We had a great time. And it was nearly impossible to wipe the smiles off our faces.
First Anniversary
On our first anniversary we went to Red Lobster. The food was great and Chase was great.
I looked into those gorgeous blue eyes and fell in love all over again. After dinner we stopped at Chase's grandmother's house
because I had her make one of our favorite desserts: Red Velvet Cake. Oh it was wonderful.
Second Honeymoon...the REAL Honeymoon
Last summer we went on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico courtesy of the Mississippi Assocaition of Broadcasters and
Chase's mom and Grandmother. We had a blast! From the Broadway-type shows, magic show, games to the towel animals on
the bed and spending time in Mexico. It was great. Here's some pics of some of the stuff we saw.
